Invisalign First: Clear Aligner Treatment for Children

Invisalign First is a clear aligner system specially designed for children ages 6-10. Everything you need to know about this innovative method that offers a comfortable and aesthetic alternative to traditional braces.

What Is Invisalign First?

Invisalign First is a clear appliance system designed by Align Technology specifically for children's growing jaws and erupting teeth. Unlike traditional brackets, invisible and removable aligners are used.

This system is used during the mixed dentition period for jaw expansion, guiding teeth to the correct position, and creating space.

What Age Is It Suitable For?

Invisalign First is designed for children ages 6-10. During this age group, the mixed dentition period is active: baby teeth are still present while permanent teeth have begun erupting.

Not every child is suitable for this treatment. Suitability is evaluated after detailed examination and digital scanning.

Advantages of Invisalign First

Aesthetic appearance: Clear aligners are nearly invisible. Removable: Can be removed during eating and tooth brushing, maintaining oral hygiene easily.

Comfort: No metal wires or brackets means minimal risk of mouth injuries. The treatment process is digitally planned with 3D simulation preview of results.

How Does the Treatment Process Work?

The first step is detailed examination and digital intraoral scanning. Treatment plan is created with 3D modeling, predetermining how teeth will move at each stage.

New aligner sets are switched every 1-2 weeks. Average treatment duration ranges from 6-18 months. Aligners must be worn at least 20-22 hours per day.

Invisalign First or Traditional Braces?

Both methods have unique advantages. Invisalign First is superior in aesthetics and comfort, while traditional braces may be more effective for more complex issues.

The choice should be made based on your child's orthodontic condition, age, compliance capacity, and family preferences.
